What are we looking for?

We are looking to recruit a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team, with a competitive salary range on offer.
This is a Monday – Sunday role, covering a 24/7 working rota with the following shift patterns: 07:00-19:00 (Day Services), 19:00-07:00 (Night Services), 3-4 shifts per week.

Patient safety is at the heart of all our pharmacy services. We’ll be using automation, unique to the UK, digital infrastructure, secure storage systems, and bar-coded medicines administration to achieve a closed loop medicines administration system. Our Pharmacy services will enable patients to be fully involved in their own care and to make shared decisions about their treatment.

What will your duties include?

  • To answer Dispensary and Distribution phone calls and deal with the inquiries where possible, take messages or refer to most appropriate staff member in the team.
  • To participate in stock supply to the wards and other clinical areas utilizing automated reports from Pyxis.
  • Accept pharmacy deliveries from the drivers and check all the containers/bags and sign for receiving deliveries.
  • Unpacking all the pharmaceutical deliveries and checking each item against the supplier invoice and report any discrepancies by following pharmacy procurement guide.
  • To deliver all the INP supply within the hospital and bring back other relevant work from the wards/pharmacists.

What we need from you?

  • GCSE or equivalent.
  • NVQ 2 in Pharmacy services (or willing to work towards).
  • Able to undertake day/night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.
  • Previous experience working as a pharmacy assistant – Desirable.
  • Hospital experience ideally in a pharmacy environment – Desirable.
